I like that deal for the Giants, that's super cheap. He rarely hit over 89 mph last year but maybe he wasn't 100% or something. More likely it's just because he's old, but we'll see how his velocity looks in a few months.
2.74, 2.47, 3.17, 3.32, 5.35. Quite a jump in ERA.
Anyway, if Howry can do well for them, and they also added Affeldt, that's one hell of a pitching staff. Wilson at the end, Lincecum, Cain, Lowry... pretty good. Sanchez has electric stuff as well but fell apart in the 2nd half last year(8-5, 3.97 in the 1st half... 1-7, 7.47 in the 2nd half). Unfortunately they also have arguably the biggest free agent bust ever for starting pitchers in Zito.

Granted, if the Padres are getting bullpen guys from the Cards, they aren't getting much in return. The Cardinals bullpen was horrible last year. If they had any prospects worth a damn, they would have been on the MLB roster.
