Patton is going to be a fucking hardboiled and found on Easter morning egg. Book it.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

He's saying Patton has a solid slider, but relies on it too heavily as an out pitch. I don't think he could have been more clear.

Lou said about the closer situation... "I'm gonna flip a coin. Heads or tails. Then I'm gonna blame Sullivan."

So, it sounds like middle relief may be more of a problem. Samardzija and Gaudin were both terrible today, and both have ERA's around 10.0

I'm almost certain Shark is going to start the season in Triple A.

Bullpen:

CP: Gregg

SU: Marmol

MR: Cotts
MR: Gaudin
MR: Patton
MR: Vizcaino

LR: Heilman

I only have Vizcaino in there because I have absolutely no idea who else could go there, plus I don't see the organization eating his contract. Guzman gets traded, I'm sure.

Give me Guzman over Vizcaino, and I hate to say it but Gaudin needs to go down to AAA to either work out his problems or decide if he's still hurt. He has no business being on an MLB roster right now.

Based on spring training form:-

CL - Gregg
SU - Marmol

LR - Heilman

Patton
Cotts
Waddell
Fox

Reality:

CL - Gregg
SU - Marmol

LR - Heilman

Gaudin
Cotts
Vizcaino
Hart

Hart's not gonna be there, replace him with Guzman or Patton and I think that's reality.

Based on what Lou has said, I'd think Heilman will be the 7th inning guy, not the long reliever.

I agree. They keep saying Heilman's a setup man. I also expect Marmol to be closing still.

I'm imagining it'll be something like this...

Closer:
Marmol

Setup:
Gregg
Heilman

Middle Relief:
Gaudin
Guzman
Patton
Cotts (mop up duty)

We'll find someone desperate enough to trade Viscaino to, I hope.
