Doesn't it?? I can't imagine any other reason to get rid of DeRosa<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'd say it's either for Peavy or to use to trade for a RFer. I'd lean Peavy though with Bradley a supposed done deal.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If we don't land both Bradley and Peavy now, or at least if that isn't Hendry's intention, then these deals make very little baseball sense.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If it's Hendry's intention and he doesn't already have the deals in place, then he's a moron. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for the moment.

Peavy
Zambrano
Dempster
Lilly
Harden

That might be the most ridonkulous rotation I have ever seen. It's almost overkill.

And what do you think we're cutting payroll for?

Derosa is only making a little bit more than we are paying Miles, so it wouldn't make sense as a payroll cut.

The new owner that wants it at 125 mill.
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

If trading DeRosa gets us Peavy, I'm all for it. That still doesn't mean we needed to sign Aaron fucking Miles.

FWIW it's not John Gobbs, it's John Gaub. I looked for stats on John Gobbs and all I found was a MySpace page for some dude. John Gaub, on the other hand, is an Indians pitcher in single A.

I don't like Miles either, but it's nice to have some flexibility for when Bradley goes down (assuming he's part of the big picture as well).

Signing Aaron Miles doesn't mean Aaron Miles is anything more than a 23rd man, just sayin'.

So will this let us hang onto Marshall if we're trading for Peavy?

Maybe John Gobbs was the best we could get from them. Did his MySpace page mention which hand he throws with?
