Love it so much.

I've listened to it twice and I like it. Still don't love it. The problem is, I've been so blown away by the new LCD Soundsystem, that I probably won't be listening to The National for awhile.

The other problem is that the new Broken Social Scene is really fucking good too and when I'm not listening to the Soundsystem, I'm listening to that.

Thanks Brock. That sort of proves what I was saying about how deep this album is. If you had asked me, I would have thought that song would be about the 7th or 8th best choice for a single, but it sounded great. They could literally play just about any song from the album and I wouldn't be surprised.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Other than the "eating your brains" one, yeah...

Have you seen them live?

Any song that glorifies the consumption of brains, yet still manages to stay classy, is top notch in my book.

Hey Tom, The National are posting pictures of a Prince concert they must be attending on Twitter. If that doesn't seal the deal for you on them, I don't know what will

The National at a Prince show

You know it's funny, the average music fan doesn't give a shit about Prince anymore, and haven't for quite sometime now, but the musicians do. You rarely, if ever, hear about other artists dissing him. He has to be one of the most respected acts out there amongst his peers.

Sadly, his new album is kind of weak.

He has peers?

Frankly, as a total music geek his stuff has always bored me and seemed vastly overrated. The egoism with no self-awareness or sense of humor is a drag...then he went and turned into a complete nut job. Chemical trails anyone?

I don't know what chemical trails means, but he did go religious, which put a damper on the sense of humour that was quite evident in his early work.

You are right about one thing though, he has no peers.

Ok, so he's a little nutty. He always has been, he's just a little more out there than he used to be.

I might have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.
