If you're looking for horror, this is not it. It's definitely a chick book. The basic story is how a human girl and a vampire fall in love. It's a bit wishy washy and meant for high school girls. It was written well enough that I managed to get through it, but the first book in the series has done nothing but really setup characters and relationships.

I would suggest it for your wife or girlfriend.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So, when do you get to reattach your penis?

Once I find it. I think the dog found it.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Why did you voluntarily read that book?

Why did you voluntarily see the movie?

THAT was not voluntary.

You were forced to see that movie? Explain.

Yeah, and then why did you voluntarily start up a thread talking about wanting vampire penis in your ass? That's just weird...

Taylor bought the tickets earlier in the day and I got home from work and she told me she got tickets and we were going. So we went.

On a guy scale, it's pretty weak. There's no guns, little blood, no car chases, no T&A and fairly little comedy. The fact that I didn't mind it, means I've been on this website too long.
I got nothin'.

I'm going to start reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels upon which the series is based. I've heard good things about them, and the series is damn good.

Twilight looks like poop.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I just finished True Blood (the series). I didn't like the first couple of episodes all that much, but it really started to hit its stride by episode 3 or 4. Now I'm totally hooked.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Me too. I thought it was going to turn into some melodramatic poopfest after the first couple of episodes, but I stuck with it. It's one of my favorites right now, and I love the direction it's going in. I think the sociopolitical and racial subplots are excellent as well.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

the season turned out great. i like the shapeshifter addition as well as the whole possibility of wherewolves and "you don't even want to know what all there is" stuff. it really opens it up.

i also like the racial/civil rights undertones but they need to be careful with that, if they correlate the vampires too closely with other minorities and their struggles from the past. we've only seen maybe 2 or 3 that are trying to "mainstream", ei. not kill people while there are a whole bunch of them that still bite people and feed off them. i haven't read the books and maybe it'll come out that a majority of them are good and want to assimilate but if they're equating the vamp civil rights movement with the actual one and it becomes too transparent it may be a problem.

or you could watch the show for what it is and quit being such a pussy
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Episode 4 is where I think I started the season. I never watched the 1st 3 as I missed the mini marathon they did from those episodes. But the season was definitely great. I'm afraid to read the books though. I kinda like the ride for what it is right now and am not sure if I want the book to influence what I am watching. So definitely let me know how that goes.
