This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

The Smokies kicked ass tonight. The 3C's (Cashner, Castro & Chirinos) included.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

BTW, I know it has only been a week, but Castro sure seems to be handling AA just fine.

Boy Castro sure can fill up a stat line can't he.

Something tells me Castro worked on reading pitchers since last year. He already has 4 stolen bases! He's been a capable base stealer in the past, but not like this.

Dubois 2-run homer in the 1st inning against ex-Cub Rich Hill. His 3rd of the season. Now 19 from Iowa Cubs franchise record.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

That would be a "Duboisious" honor.

Do we have a "groan" emoticon?
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

OK, I'll give you points for creativity.
Meanwhile, from K Law's chat:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Nate (Philly)
Keith- Andrew Cashner is having (in a small sample-2 games) an absurd amount of K's in the startting rotation. The first game, he went 4.1, K'ed 10, but then seemed to tire. Last night, he went 6+ before giving up a hit or a BB, and K'ed 10 or 11 again. Can you see him developing into a 1 or 2 starter, or do you still believe his future is in the pen?

Klaw (12:08 PM)
Two reasons I had him more likely to be in the pen were lack of missed bats in pro ball and bad track record prior to his draft year as a starter, with some medical concerns. If he's healthy, and continues missing bats (small sample size caveat applies), then yes, he'd project as a starter and would have two plus pitches in that role.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I know they really want to make him a starter, but I still think his future is in the pen.

Cashner is the White Marmol, or the Young Scot Shields.
