I think the Cubs wanted another left handed bat when Soto doesn't play. I really like Hank. We are losing a very good back up catcher because of the recent obsession with left handed hitting as if it were our downfall last season.

Blanco was a spare part--he was a great spare part--but that's all he was. I loved Hank White--but how much do you really care about a backup catcher?

A regression by Soto wouldn't be negated any by Blanco though. If we sign Bako or Lo Duca, we'll be more than alright as far as backup catchers go.
