This is a perfect example....It kind of bothers me on the expectations and pressure fans and media are putting on these young men. I really hope this is not another instance where Cubs fans get their hopes up, only to get crushed....again. I just hope the pressure doesn't became too much where it starts effecting their production and development. It seems like the entire Cubs nation is resting their hopes and dreams on some of these kids that are barely out of high school. I for one, am far from counting the number of World Series titles the Cubs will achieve in the next 20 years. Don't get me wrong, I'm REALLY encouraged with the steps that Theo has taken, as well as the pieces he's put in place for the future.

I guess I'm just hoping for the best...but the Cubs fan in me is preparing for the worst.

On a side note, I don't think Ben Strauss put much thought on the timeline on some of these HOF plaques. I think Almora and Castro are both in the world series for two different teams in the same year (milwaukee and Chicago in 2022)

I'll worry about the pressure on the kids if they get to the majors and are playing in the World Series, NLCS, playoffs, an MLB playing better than 500 ball.

Right now those in the majors are playing for a last place team that's not supposed to compete for another couple of years. The others are prospects trying to make it like everyone else.

Sorry that may still feel like a lot of pressure but they guys you want on your club are those that can thrive in those situations.

BTW I'm also not worried about the managers and owners who one day may feel the real pressure to bring a series winner to the north side as these guys have been given a pass last season and probably for another couple.
