Looks like the reviews are lukewarm for this one but I saw it last night and really loved it. I guess it's more chick-flick compared to the usual movies discussed on here but I had to take my wife out and this was the least harmful seeming movie to go see. Being married with kids (but not nearly as successful as the characters in the movie) and nearing 40 myself almost definitely added to my enjoyment of it. People in the same boat who toss around phrases like "I'm married to my best friend" or "She's as beautiful as the day we met" might not find the honesty in this movie as relate-able as I did either. Besides the dialogue between people who don't have a perfect marriage I liked the casting too. I believe the daughters are Apatow and Mann's real kids so while the kids are obviously not veteran actors, the chemistry between the actors was undeniable. I think I also read that Rudd has basically been like a family member for years so he was able to play the character sort of based on Apatow really well. The secondary actors are all great but the scenes with Melissa McCarthy steal the show. Not an amazing movie by any stretch but it really authentically encapsulates a specific group of people the way Funny People, Knocked Up, Undeclared and Freaks and Geeks did. Now that this and The Hobbit are out of the way I can finally go see DJango next week.

All I care about is how Graham Parker & the Rumour were. How were they?

He was a good sport as he was part of a pretty good joke in the movie. If I remember right he sang an acoustic song and then sang Happy Birthday. The whole band only sang one song, maybe partially two. They sounded good. Parker and the Green Day guy had a funny talk about Glee. Ryan Adams also played "live". Like most of his movies I can remember there was good music throughout.

Mann is a lady that I've come to find much more attractive the older that she gets. And Rudd is one of my favorites at the moment. I'll watch pretty much anything he is in, but I think I'll wait for this on DVD, just like the rest of Apatow's films.

I wanted to see this over Christmas, but my wife nixed it. I think she thought it might hit a little too close to home...

It hitting close to home is definitely a risk anyone might be taking. Also, you see Mann's chest-area. Twice.

This was meh. And it's too long for what it is.

Also, I'm pretty sure Leslie Mann's nudity is CGI.

Mann showed some skin in "The Change-Up" (maybe that was CGI as well?) which btw was god awful.

I don't know why I know this, but yes, I think that was CGI too.

That sucks. It was almost a perfect scene until she evacuated her bowels.
