I know a lot of people hate Malick and consider him to be talented but overly pretentious, but I still really enjoy the experience of his films. Anyway, this one seems to be the offspring of "Tree of Life" and "Days of Heaven." Hopefully, there is more to this than just recycled visuals and whispered platitudes. And I like me some Olga Kurylenko.

Well, Affleck was in a Michael Bay film (Armageddon) once upon a time, so there is a loose connection here between these two films. And tomorrow is 12/21/12. Just sayin'.

I've actually backed off the Pacific Rim looks like Transformers thing. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced I was wrong.

It looks like Battle Ship.

Pass.

I can't wait. Love Malick. I used to hate Ben Affleck, but he seems to have gotten out of the douchey frat boy persona since he got married and had a kid. Still think Argo is good, but overrated.

I separate Affleck the writer/director from the actor. As the former, I think he is very talented. As the latter, he is an insufferable douche.

We agree about Argo. Good, but not great movie. I liked Affleck in The Town, but can't think of many others roles I liked outside of perhaps Good Will Hunting.

You are not alone. I thought it was just ok, bordering on corny.

A movie about armed robberies in Boston that includes overacting, heavy southie accents and robbing Fenway, corny? What???

Just to cover my ass here, yes that was sarcasm. Don't believe that an explanation is required as that's sarcasm rather than a full joke.

I had high hopes for The Town based on the buzz it was getting. But I thought it was dull.

Gone Baby Gone, on the other hand, was great.
