This is actually far worse than their past fire sales. These are guys that they signed just last year to long-term deals. They've not done that before. That shithole of a franchise should just be contracted. Oh, and they scammed their way into a new taxpayer-funded stadium and are going to be fielding a team worse than the Astros in its second year.

I've seen some speculation that MLB might nix the deal because of concern over what it might mean to the future of baseball in Miami. They shouldn't. MLB killed the other Canadian franchise with the strike in 1994. I honestly believe that pulling a David Stern veto on this trade will kill the Blue Jays fan base permanently and that's 100 times the fan base than the shits in Miami have ever been.

Yeah the whole deal seems incredibly shady. I think the backlash is going to be pretty big.

This is exactly why I hate the Marlins more than any non-NL Central team. Just fucking pathetic. AND THESE ASSHOLES HAVE WON TWO WORLD SERIES AND PREVENTED US FROM ONE. So angry right now.

Oh, and Theo/Jed should be on the phone with the Marlins right now to see if they can get Giancarlo Stanton for some Triple-AAA dickface.

Rosenthal just tweeted that Nolasco could be next.

I would take a flier on Nolasco for the right price.

Feels like we've had a similar pitcher to Nolasco in our system before.

I would love to have Stanton, but man they would probably want a huge haul for him.

I'm still bitter about losing Nolasco (as inconsistent as he's been) in the Pierre assfucking, um trade.

Man, the more I think about it the more I hope Jed has already made two or three calls asking about Stanton.

I mean realistically they probably won't want to spend the money to extend him and now he's pissed.

Awaiting Loria to blame the trade on Obama's re-election. Yeah that's the ticket. He was probably concerned that his taxes would go up so he decided to shit can the franchise to ensure neglibile profits and therefore low taxes

Miami now has about $16m in non-arb related commitments for 2013.
