Huh? This could turn out to be a disaster despite the endless wait.

Interesting. It looks like it departs from the book...

Why do you think that could be a disaster? I mean it could (it's only a trailer), but I the trailer is really well done.

There's no way they could have followed the book, as it was too far ranging, unless they wanted to do a series, but I'm really looking forward to this. I loved the book.

I thought this thread was about the Cubs trying to bring back Zambrano.

Carry on.

The crowd scenes look dumb. How many times do they have to show people/zombies falling to their deaths like lemmings? Other than that, the trailer was just ok.

I've read about the multiple re-writes and re-shoots that were done to make this more of an action movie compared to the source material, and I have know idea what this is supposed to be. I liked the book quite a bit though.

I liked the crowd scenes. I don't remember a lot of movies where that happens (those shots reminded me of the begining of "The Happening, actually). The Snyder "Dawn" remake had some huge crowd scenes, and a couple of wide scale shots, but I thought this was unique with it's masses of zombies attacking shots. Maybe I'm forgetting something, but pretty much every zombie movie ever eventually boils down to a siege movie with a group of people stuck in a farmhouse/warehouse/sewer/basement/industrial complex/laboratory/bar/ etc arguing with each other. This one looks like it's taking a wide view from the government side, and their response. Zombie movies are so popular and so ubiquitous because they are cheap to make, so making a grand scale epic is beyond the budget of most zombie movie productions. You add Brad Pitt to the mix and that changes. The movie still might suck, but I thought it looked a lot different than every other zombie movie I've seen before.

I thought 28 Weeks Later handled that wider lense perspective you describe really well, so I am definitely going to hold that up as the gold standard vs. World War Z. I've watched the trailer several times since yesterday, and I still can't stand the crowd scenes.

The book was great, but much different than most zombie books. It's a series of interviews.

I like the fast zombies. They're much more scary.
