That's why, IMO, you keep and extend. Use him to build. If he's 33-35 then whatever, trade him for all you can get. But he's on the right side of 30 which is why it makes sense to keep him.

I don't get the logic behind trading Garza for one prospect. Why not keep him, give him a qualifying offer, and collect the sandwich pick in the draft? You get to keep Garza for 1 1/2 years and still get a decent prospect at the end, with the possibility he'll catch fire and be tradeable next year.

If he gets traded, I'd be shocked if it was for a single prospect. If you trade him next year he's a rental...you trade for him this year you have him help you in a playoff push and an extra year of control.
